Terms of Use
Last updated 20 September 2026
These terms govern your use of the Grid Out app and the Grid Out website at www.gridoutgame.com (together, "Grid Out"). By using Grid Out you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Grid Out for your own non-commercial entertainment. Use of the app is also subject to the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
2. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of Grid Out;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that right cannot be excluded by law;
- rent, lease, sell, sublicense or redistribute it;
- remove or alter any proprietary notices;
- interfere with its normal operation, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to its systems; or
- use automated means to submit results or otherwise manipulate scores.
3. The service
Grid Out is free. It has no accounts, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features, puzzles or the service as a whole at any time.
4. Your game data
Your puzzle history is stored on your device. We are not responsible for game data lost through device loss, reinstallation, clearing browser data or any other cause. The privacy policy explains what is collected and how long it is kept.
5. Intellectual property
Grid Out, including its name, artwork, puzzle generation and code, is owned by us and is protected by copyright and other laws. These terms grant you no rights in it other than the licence in section 1.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
Grid Out is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of Grid Out. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Termination
This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may end it at any time by deleting the app and ceasing to use the website. Sections 5 to 7 survive termination.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of the page is revised whenever they change. Continued use of Grid Out after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Terms that apply to the App Store
The following apply to the iOS app obtained through the App Store:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Grid Out and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for Grid Out.
- If Grid Out fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Grid Out.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Grid Out, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that Grid Out infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.
